Hey there, at the bottom of this page there are 2 links you need to be aware of: Follow and Subscribe. As a person interested in scouting and Troop 43, you should become a follower by clicking the link to the right. The link to subscribe is at the bottom of the current posting, in blue. This link should give you an update when a new post has been added.

This is an easy way to be in the know about the happenings of Troop 43. As we ease into using more technology, it is possible that Mr. Bronson or Mr. Person or even our Advancement Chairperson Mrs. Person may want to remind you of something coming up. So, don't be left out in the cold, sign up today!

Next Merit Badge.......

Well, you just earned that cool carpentry merit badge, now what? Will it be your cooking merit badge, snow sports merit badge or something else? Be thinking about it because this is the time of year to be planning out what you might get done in scouting.

Historic Merit Badge: Carpentry

On December 21st, 14 members of Troop 43 earned the historical Carpentry Merit Badge. Way to go guys! That is one special merit badge with real life skills you will use again and again. A big shout-out and thank you to Mr. Bill Senton for being the merit badge counselor who lead the guys through their paces.

Thinking Ahead

It's that time of year again, time to think warm thoughts and Trail to Eagle! The council has provided us with the information for this unique opportunity for boys 13 years of age or older. This is a wonderful opportunity for a young man to spend a week bonding with other potential Eagle Scouts and earning Eagle Rank requirements. D-bar-A scout ranch the host site for this yearly event. Check out this link for Trail to Eagle.

Pon-Man Winter Hodag!

Announcing the Pon-Man Winter Hodag!
Due to format or my lack of knowledge, I was unable to upload the flyer to our site. So, if you are interested in the specifics of the Hodag then head on over to the GLC site for all the details. I don't see it listed there now, but I'm sure it will be up soon. If you would like a direct link, just email me and I will forward what I have.

The email I received announcing this event encourages the scouts to work on their Polar Bear patch. I believe the scouts must be outside in specific temperatures for a 24 hour period to be eligible for this patch. This event is not 24 hours, Friday night until Saturday afternoon.

Little Caesars Pizza Bowl

Just sent out by the council......
Little Caesars Pizza Bowl invite to all scouts. This is the day after Christmas and you will have to go pick up the tickets in Waterford. Check out the link and order tickets directly from the council. They will email you when the tickets are available for pick-up.

Hi Troop 43 parents,

Even though school is cancelled, the Troop leaders have decided that we
will still have the Christmas party as scheduled for tonight at 7p.m.  Hope
to see you there!

(note that if for some reason your scout was never called by their patrol
leader, the party is at 7p.m., please bring a dish to pass, and the scouts
are doing a $20 gift exchange if your scout would like to participate)

Finally, I would like to collect the dues for rechartering tonight, unless
other arrangements are needed.  Note that you can pay from your scout
accounts, if funds are available.

Best Regards,
Kevin Person
